Don’t miss “Guilty ‘Til Proven Innocent”

Best Friends Animal Society invites you to a free screening of Guilty ’Til Proven Innocent, a film about breed discrimination, this Sunday, November 17 at 3 p.m. at the Tivoli Theatre on Delmar Avenue. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be picked up at the Tivoli box office.

Following the screening, the film’s Director Jeff Theman and Best Friends Senior Legislative Attorney Ledy VanKavage will answer questions.  Special guests include Jamie Buehrle, animal advocate and wife of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Mark Buehrle, along with therapy dog Slater, who is part of the Buehrle family, and Kelly Backes, cofounder of Athletes for Animals and wife of St. Louis Blues captain David Backes.

Best Friends is sponsoring this film as part of the St. Louis International Film Festival to help increase awareness about breed discrimination. We all want safe communities for people and pets. We also want our communities to be protected against dangerous dogs – and we want abused dogs to be protected against reckless owners. Breed discrimination does not achieve these goals, but it does hurt good dogs and the responsible people who love them.

We hope you’ll join us for the screening of “Guilty ‘Til Proven Innocent” and help spread the word. Even if you can’t be there on Sunday, you can still help end breed discrimination in St. Louis County. To learn more, please sign up to receive our legislative alerts here.
